Plan when expansion would be used
Identify a specific scenario, such as bringing a folded jacket home or adding an overnight kit after class. Check whether expansion opens usable main-compartment space or affects a different area. Inspect the zipper arrangement so you can recognize the correct closure when the bag is full and you are in a hurry.
