A lighter 28-liter route with outdoor storage
Fjällräven places the padded laptop sleeve inside the main compartment and adds a top pocket, a front organizer, an accessible front zip pocket and stretch side pockets. The page lists seven pockets. Hydration compatibility and the elastic front cord are more relevant to a day hike than an extra stationery slot, but confirm the reservoir and routing you intend to use.
At 750 g, the Skule is 250 g lighter than the official 1,000 g Räven 28 figure. Its 50 × 29 × 18 cm exterior is also taller, narrower and shallower on paper. Those are unloaded measurements, not a statement about how the two bags expand around the same contents.
Water-repellent is the limit of the claim
The official page identifies 600-denier recycled-polyester Oxford fabric and calls it water-repellent. It does not publish a waterproof rating on the product page. Keep electronics or other moisture-sensitive items in separate protection when conditions may exceed that wording.
