Pack it as clothing-and-tech luggage
The flat opening and tie-downs make this the collection's suitcase-like model. Place the laptop in its dedicated pocket, then use the remaining shape for clothing rather than assuming 25.8 liters behaves like the same volume in the top-opening Windsor. A bottle pocket and luggage sleeve can help in transit, but neither establishes airline compliance.
Expansion adds 1.5 inches of depth. That may solve a real packing constraint, but it also changes the outside profile from 7 to 8.5 inches. Compare the expanded, filled bag—not the unexpanded catalog silhouette—with the operating carrier's current limit for the ticket you hold.
Choose a carry mode for a recurring handoff
Backpack mode frees both hands; duffel or crossbody carry can make the opening or luggage handoff easier. The current reference lists an adjustable strap from 20 to 37 inches. Check where unused straps sit and whether the packed 2-pound-11-ounce bag remains comfortable after your clothing and computer are added.
The official up-to-16-inch statement still needs a device-level check. A diagonal screen label does not provide the pocket's width, height or thickness, especially with a protective case attached.
