Look beyond the large label
A bag’s usefulness depends on the shape of its compartments as well as its total space. Ask whether your largest folder can fit flat and whether the computer has separate access. If travel clothing will share the load, check how it can be arranged without making the items needed during the journey difficult to retrieve.
Investigate the construction claim
Heavy duty is not a measured performance result in the supplied catalog. Useful follow-up evidence includes fabric specifications, zipper details and the design of the straps and handles. None of these should be assumed. Compare the empty weight too if the bag will spend long periods on your back during a commute or transfer.
